Music and singing are the heart of our school culture. Our program is designed to complement and enhance every child’s learning experience, with an emphasis on fun and participation.  Our curriculum involves dance and creative movement as well as singing and rhythm instruments.

We draw from a wide repertoire, from old folk songs to “zipper songs” where each child may add a verse, to movement games and Elmwood originals.

Our playlist, “Elmwood Sings,” helps create a warm home-school connection and is requested over and over in family cars. Many people worked on this project, and it reflects some of our most beloved repertoire from over 35 years of making music at Elmwood Day School.
